How do I play?
Guess the hidden word in six tries. After each guess, the tiles show how close you are: green means the letter is in the right spot, yellow means it's in the word but elsewhere, and dark grey means it's not in the word at all.
What is Hard Mode?
Any hints you've revealed must be used in your following guesses — green letters must stay put, and yellow letters must appear somewhere. You can only switch it on at the start of a round.
What is Word Nest?
A ladder puzzle: solve the clue at every level, where each answer uses all the letters of the previous answer — in any order — plus one new letter. Puzzles grow from a 3-letter seed to a 7- or 8-letter finale. Switch between all six games by tapping the title.
How do hints work in Word Nest?
The hint button gives a nudge first; tap again and it reveals the letter that level adds. Finish a puzzle without hints and it counts as a perfect solve in your stats.
What is Word Ladder?
Turn the start word into the target by changing one letter at a time — every step must be a real word. Beat the par in Short, Classic or Marathon runs, or keep going forever in an endless chain. The undo button takes back dead ends for free.
What is Flag Match?
A country's flag is shown with one section blanked out. Paint it from memory with the hue, saturation and brightness sliders — the closer your color, the higher your score. Five flags per run; Survival keeps going until a flag scores under 60, and Expert makes you paint every section. Study first in the flag gallery.
What is Groups?
Sixteen words hide four groups of four. Select four words that share a connection and submit — four mistakes and the puzzle reveals itself. Difficulties range from easy to devious.
What is Hive?
Seven letters in a honeycomb, with one letter required in every word. Spell as many words as you can — longer words score more, and using all seven letters lands a pangram. Reach Genius to win the hive.
How do streaks work?
Every win extends your streak; a loss, giving up, or abandoning a game mid-round resets it. Stats and records are tracked separately for every game — 5-letter and 4-letter Classic, Word Nest, Word Ladder, Flag Match, Groups and Hive.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. The entire game — including the dictionary — lives on your phone.
